Finding myself with a nice week off work, I've decided to make something specific of it.

I'm going to start, finish and submit a game for iPhone in one week. I will put larger posts here and tweet about it as I go. If you use twitter and are interested please follow @beetlefeet and/or @rockethands which I will retweet with.

I've done a screen mock-up (attached later in this post) this morning after thinking up a simple premise over the weekend with help from the RocketHands.

The idea is to not be too ambitious. One of the ways I'll accomplish this is by reusing a lot of assets and the setting from RocketFuse. This will help to cross promote the games and I feel can make the RocketFuse universe become something of an ongoing setting, which is exciting if a bit self-important :)

Anyway without further ado here is the mockup fresh from photoshop:

The game is a simple fly upwards, dodge obstacles, collect shineys and tilt to steer. It's obviously not very innovative but this sort of simple gameplay seems to fare well on iPhone so I think it makes sense.

Next step: Get the xcode project set up. I'll be using the latest version of cocos2d-iphone which is the same library we used for RocketFuse (albeit an earlier version).

Go go Gadget Jack!

Great to hear Jack! I'd be very happy to be a beta tester for you guys by the way.
